At Zip Flood Control, we strive to deliver your products efficiently and reliably. Below, you’ll find everything you need to know about our shipping and delivery process.

Shipping Times

  • Processing: Orders typically ship from our warehouse within –15 business days, depending on your order mix.
  • Delivery: Once shipped, delivery takes 2–6 business days, depending on your location.

Shipping Methods

We use trusted carriers to ensure your order arrives safely:

  • Small Parcel Shipments: For smaller orders, we use carriers like FedEx or UPS.
  • LTL (Less-than-Truckload) Shipments: Larger or heavier items are shipped via LTL freight carriers on pallets.

Small Parcel Shipments

  • Free Shipping: Available within the 48 contiguous United States.
  • Additional Charges: Shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, APO/FPO, Puerto Rico, or international destinations (including Canada) may incur extra fees.
  • Address Requirements: A physical street address is required (no P.O. boxes, except for APO/FPO addresses).
  • International Orders: Shipped via FedEx International, UPS, or specialized carriers. Contact us at Hello@ZipFloodControl.com for details or quotes.

LTL Shipments

  • What to Expect: Large orders are delivered by freight carriers during business hours (Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM). The carrier will contact you to schedule a delivery window (typically 4 hours) or you can schedule online using the tracking information.
  • Included Services: Residential delivery and lift gate service (lowering the pallet to ground level) are included in our online prices.
  • Access Requirements: The delivery location must have a street at least 10 feet wide with 14 feet of overhead clearance. Additional charges may apply for restricted access. Contact us for special requirements.
  • Delivery Details: Deliveries are made to the main entrance. Moving items inside is the customer’s responsibility, though drivers may offer limited assistance (not guaranteed). Packaging disposal is not provided.
  • Negotiated Rates: For large shipments, contact us at Hello@ZipFloodControl.com for a custom quote.

Upon Delivery: What to Do

Inspect your order carefully before signing the delivery receipt to ensure everything is correct and undamaged.

Check for Completeness

  • Verify all items and pieces are included.
  • If anything is missing, note it on the delivery receipt, accept the delivered items, and contact us to resolve the issue.

Inspect for Damage

  • Visible Damage: If the package or product is damaged, note the damage on the delivery receipt. You may refuse delivery or accept it and contact us immediately.
  • Partial Damage: If only part of the order is damaged, accept the delivery, note the damage, and contact us to arrange replacements.
  • Hidden Damage: If damage is discovered after unpacking, contact us within 24 hours with a detailed description and photos.
  • Documentation: Take photos of any damage before accepting delivery. Keep a copy of the signed delivery receipt, noting any issues, and record the freight company’s name and truck number if available.

Damage Claim Policy

  • Timeframe: Freight damage claims must be filed within 2 business days of delivery.
  • Custom Orders: Sales of customized barriers or equipment (e.g., Hammerhead™ aluminum planks) are final.
  • Procedure:
    1. Inspect the shipment before the driver leaves. Note any visible damage or suspected hidden damage (e.g., cracked packaging) on the bill of lading and delivery receipt.
    2. For visible damage, contact us immediately and take photos before unpacking. Do not unpack until we advise, as the freight carrier may need to inspect for a claim.
    3. For concealed damage noticed after unpacking, take photos and notify us within 2 weeks to meet carrier claim deadlines.
    4. Provide a copy of the bill of lading and any damage photos to Hello@ZipFloodControl.com

Important: Failure to follow these steps may affect your eligibility for warranty replacements or reimbursement.

Storage Fees for Unshipped Orders

  • You’ll be notified when your order is ready to ship or pick up.
  • Orders must be received within 10 days of notification due to limited warehouse space.
  • A $300/week storage and handling fee will apply for orders not received within this timeframe to cover storage and logistics costs.
